New Taipei City Mounted Police Squad

Purpose: The Mounted Police Squad is service-oriented. The Squad maintains order in popular sightseeing spots in order to build good relationship with the public. Implementation: Officers with good English abilitys are selected. Uniforms, badges and bilingual billboards have been designed to provide instant service and to attract tourists.

The Bicycle Squad

Purpose: The Bicycle Squad was set up so that officers in complex urban areas may respond efficiently. Implementation: A 150-km bicycle lane was built along the riverside park in New Taipei City. The Bicycle Squad can also serve tourists and improve relations with the public.

Heavy-duty Motorcycle Squad

Purpose: The Squad was initiated to promote safe driving. Implementation: The New Taipei City Heavy-duty Motorcycle Squad was established in June 2005. It is hoped that the squad with bright protective gear can help improve the image of the police and promote concepts of safe driving.

Police Band

Purpose: Music is a universal language. It is hoped that music can increase opportunities to interact with police all over the world. Implementation: The New Taipei City Police Band was formed on June 3, 1996, and has been very well received.
